The Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F (1925-2020)., was Catholic Missionary priest of the Claretian Congregation, was ordained in 1952. He was listed in 'Who's Who In Religion in America," he served as parish priest, seminary professor and rector, college professor, lecturer, writer, editor, retreat master, hospital chaplain, prison chaplain, campus chaplain, and Cursillo director. He earned degrees in philosophy from Loyola- Marymount University in Los Angeles and from Notre Dame University, with postgraduate work at the University of Southern California, and the Dominican House of Studies in River Forest, Illinois, in ascetical and mystical theology. He was a psychological consultant to the National Broadcasting Company, columnist for three newspapers, and director of suicide-prevention programs in Texas and California.
Besides his poetry and articles in popular magazines, his more scholarly works were published in such periodicals as the Journal of Neuropsychiatry. During his ministry he traveled to 29 countries and preached in all 50 states in the U.S.A. He considered himself an "itinerant preacher-teacher" and was an advocate of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and Marriage ministry. He made numerous radio and television presentations.
In this presentation, Fr. Hampsch talks about the importance of integrating the Charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit into daily life and challenges the listener to employ them to serve and strengthen the Church.
